Ausiello: Haven't you learned anything from Ask Ausiello? There's no such thing as too early when it comes to scoop. Case in point: Prison Break producers are already hard at work casting a slew of new series-regular roles, including a male in his forties (King Kong's Thomas Kretschmann is the prototype) and a strong-willed female in her thirties (likely a love interest for Lincoln).

Ausiello: Only what my colleague Matt Mitovich told you last week in his news blog: Producers have put out a casting call for Michael's new Panamanian cell mate — a wrongfully imprisoned fisherman.

When Prison Break unspools the latest leg in Michael and Linc's ongoing quest for truth, justice and the American way, expect to see some new faces enter the mix. According to the Reporter, with Mikey and some of the gang now holed away in a squalid Panama prison, the show is casting a mysterious and (of course) wrongfully imprisoned fisherman, said fisherman's beautiful girlfriend, a Panamanian drug lord and a female operative for a government conspiracy group. (Can't not have one of those, after all.)

Question: Do you happen to know in which episode Sarah Wayne Callies returns to Prison Break?— Isabelle

Ausiello: Sarah Wayne Callies or Dr. Sara Tancredi? I'm not sure when Sarah Wayne Callies is back — Spoiler alert! — but Sara Tancredi makes a blink-and-you-missed-her cameo in the season premiere. It's also worth noting that Callies' name has disappeared from the opening credits. Her manager, however, assures me that her client is "returning to Prison Break this season."

Ausiello: (Spoiler alert) Mahone's going to do something very out of character in the premiere: *a** *i****'s **fe. And in Episode 2, Linc turns to an old friend to help break Michael out of that hellhole of a prison.

Question: Regarding your item about Sarah Wayne Callies not returning to Prison Break, Fox put out a statement saying she [Fox said Sara Tancredi, not SWC.] plays a significant part in the storyline this year. So who have I to believe? — Claire

Ausiello: Believe us both 'cause it's all true. I'll have much more to say on this shocking turn of events in the very near future.


Muff this is the item that I was talking about that I have seen. It is the only one I have found regarding PB and SWC's future with it.

Question: Please tell us why Sarah Wayne Callies isn't returning to Prison Break. We fans have the right to know. The Michael-Sara relationship is the only reason I watch.— Lisa



Ausiello: Well, you probably shouldn't waste your time petitioning the network to bring her back, since reliable sources tell me that it was her decision not to return to the show following her maternity leave.

As I said last week, I'll have much more to say on this whole matter in the coming weeks. In related news, Callies' spokesperson confirms that the actress gave birth to a baby girl, Keala, in July. 

Thanks Muff! I kinda knew it was her decision not to return.

The boys will be staging a break-in (instead of breakout). Word is, they're trying to get into a building owned by the Treasury Department, and I'm guessing it has something to do with taking down the Company, which is their ticket to unconditional freedom, offered by government agent Michael Rapaport.
